"We have listened carefully and in light of the expressed will of the House, we will publish the final and full advice provided by the Attorney General to Cabinet".

The "final and full" advice will be released tomorrow.

"This deal.is the best way, I firmly believe, of ensuring that we leave the European Union on March 29", Attorney General Geoffrey Cox told parliament on Monday.

The government had initially lost a vote, 311 votes to 307, on their own amendment which would have meant the case of "contempt" being referred to the Parliamentary standards committee.

Addressing the Commons at the start of a five-day debate on her proposed Brexit agreement, Mrs May said Brexit divisions had become "corrosive" to United Kingdom politics and the public believed the issue had "gone on long enough" and must be resolved.

"It is, I think unprecedented for this House to find government ministers in contempt".

On Tuesday, representatives from the Labour party, the Liberal Democratic party, the SNP, the DUP, the Green party and the Welsh Plaid Cymru party has written a joint letter to the speaker of the House of Commons calling for action to be taken against the government.

Leadsom said: "We've tested the opinion of the House twice on this very serious subject.

The Commons could proceed to pass motions of censure on individual ministers or of no confidence in the Government".

In an opinion prepared for the European Court of Justice (ECJ) in Strasbourg, the advocate general said the United Kingdom did not need the approval of the 27 remaining EU member states to halt the two-year countdown triggered invoking Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.

Oil prices drop amid rising US stocks, OPEC uncertainty
That may give the kingdom a narrow path between provoking the president's wrath and preventing an even deeper oil-price slump. The outcome of next week's OPEC meeting "remains clouded by uncertainty", said Stephen Brennock of oil broker PVM.

Sterling rose on hopes that the court advice would make a disorderly "no-deal" Brexit next March less likely.

Over the past few months the pound has been rocked by political turmoil as Theresa May tries to win support for her Brexit deal.

Another critical vote on the Brexit deal is fast approaching.

May faces an uphill struggle to secure Parliament's approval in a vote on December 11, when many Brexit supporters and opponents alike say they will reject her vision for leaving the EU, Britain's biggest shift in foreign policy in over 40 years.

Meanwhile, Bank of England Governor Mark Carney hit back at "unfair" criticism, after pro-Brexit MPs accused him of scaremongering.

Supporters of a harder Brexit insisted they were relaxed about the amendment on Tuesday, saying that even if a motion was amended by MPs - to call for a second referendum, for example - it would not be binding on the government.

As she sought the backing of the Commons for her Brexit deal, the prime minister said the United Kingdom would enjoy a "better future" outside the European Union.

But the deal still needs to be passed by a majority of British MPs in Parliament. Labour sources say it would be an extraordinary moment for the Prime Minister to have moved a motion (later today) only for the motion not to be put.

She says her deal will maintain close economic ties with the European Union while enabling Britain to trade more freely with the rest of the world and meet voters' demands to reduce immigration.
