"Grateful for a fair hearing from judge".

"I think Jim Comey has done the right thing here", Figliuzzi said.

He said that he will testify "in the dark" but that Republicans had agreed he is "free to talk when done and transcript released in 24 hours". But in an emergency court hearing Friday, Comey's attorneys acknowledged that the request to quash the congressional subpoena was unorthodox, suggesting the motion had little chance of succeeding.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, a Virginia Republican, issued a statement Sunday that confirmed the plan.

They will likely ask him about the FBI's decisions in 2016 that determined the outcome of a investigation into Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's illicit use, while secretary of state, of a private email server where more than 100 classified documents were open to unfriendly governments' prying eyes.

Comey insisted he would only testify in public, not behind closed doors.

Former FBI Director James Comey said Sunday that he has reached an agreement with Republican lawmakers regarding his testimony about the agency's actions ahead of the 2016 US presidential election.

Ballon d'Or 2018: Top 5 leaked award winners
The year of 2018 has been the year of Luka Modric and there is no better evidence than with the Ballon d'Or victory. Ronaldo - who has scored over 500 career goals - has made no secret of his desire to win the Ballon d'Or again.

"Mr. Comey appreciates the Court's attention to the above-captioned matter, but has now reached an acceptable accommodation with U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary for voluntary testimony", Comey's lawyers wrote in a court filing Sunday.

Moscow denies meddling and Trump denies campaign collusion, calling the Mueller investigation a political witch hunt. Democrats say the GOP is hoping to use the issue to derail or discredit special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation.

House Republicans issued subpoenas to Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch last month and Comey issued a challenge, saying he would prefer a public hearing instead of a closed-door session.

They have also claimed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation made missteps when it applied for a warrant to place former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page under surveillance.

After an initial hearing on the challenge Friday, U.S. District Judge Trevor N. McFadden did not rule but indicated he was unlikely to grant Comey's motion.

He sued quash the subpoena, expressing his wariness of "selective leaking" being used to paint a distorted partisan picture of his testimony.
