Cavs trade Korver to Jazz

  • Kyle Korver

In only 124 games played with the Cavs, (one complete season and portions of the 2016-2017 and 2018-2019 campaigns), he managed to ascend to 13th on the franchise leader board in total three-pointers.

Burks, along with a pair of future second-round picks, has been dealt to the lowly Cavaliers in exchange for veteran sharpshooter Kyle Korver.

The first opportunity that Korver will get to play for the Jazz will be Friday night, when they continue an Eastern road trip with a game at Charlotte. The acquisition of Burks, a quality 27-year-old role player who has averaged 9.6 points per game during his career, will aid in that process.

Korver has made 2,238 career 3-pointers, fourth-most in National Basketball Association history and tops among current players. The 37-year-old is making $7.56 million this season and is set to make $7.5 million next season. He was instrumental in the Cavs' two trips to the NBA Finals.

Kyle Korver has gotten his wish.

'I don't believe' government climate report finding
The Trump administration has eased enforcement of several environmental rules enacted during the presidency of Barack Obama. In fact, Trump's 2016 presidential campaign pledge of reviving the country's coal industry is gaining momentum.

Korver has put up 6.8 points and 1.8 rebounds for Cleveland so far this season and is averaging 15.7 minutes per game. As a team, the Jazz are near the bottom in 3 point shooting percentage.

Per Woj, the picks in question are the Jazz's 2020 second round selection and a 2021 second-rounder from the Washington Wizards.

His three-point abilities should provide a boost to the Jazz as he returns to Utah for the second time.

Korver has one more year remaining on his current contract, worth $7.5 million. They presently have a 10-12 record, the third-worst mark in the conference, but they're within two games of the team now in the seventh spot, the Los Angeles Lakers.

It's too bad the Cavs couldn't follow through and trade Korver during the offseason as he had asked, but this seems like a solid consolation prize for both he and the team, especially with what they acquired from the Jazz.
