  • Floyd Mayweather to face star kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN 14 in Japan on New Year's Eve

At this stage in his career, Floyd "Money" Mayweather should have enough dosh for 10 lifetimes.

Floyd Mayweather will come out of retirement to face 20-year old kickboxing superstar Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN 14 on New Year's Eve in Japan. "I wanted to participate on that big stage". "It was a surprise offer but I accepted without hesitation", he said.

'I spoke with my team and with RIZIN and we put it together.

"I have fought in the USA for all 50 of my fights". Rizin is a MMA fight federation based out of Japan.

In comparison, Mayweather has a professional record of 50-0, won world titles at five different weight classes and a bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics. If there is to be some compromise from Mayweather, it is perhaps likely that he may acquiesce to the fight taking place in the MMA gloves - 4oz, compared to either 8oz or 10oz boxing gloves.

With fighting fans - both boxing and MMA alike - trying to process the latest twist in Mayweather's career path, will primarily come down to the eventual decision over the rules of his next bout before any real judgement can be made. "My opponent looks taller than he actually is, but I think I could hit him".

Indeed we will see, but the odds are heavily on Mayweather not even sniffing anything close to a bout that involves grappling of any kind.

The Gaza Strip faces a severe electricity shortage, high unemployment and lack of clean water, among other humanitarian concerns. The committee is technically independent from Hamas, but includes representatives allied to the Islamist movement.

Mayweather is 50-0 as a boxer with 21 knockouts, and most recently defeated McGregor when McGregor transitioned from the UFC Octagon to the boxing ring. "My punch can change the history and I will show that to you, so please stay tuned".

"I'm very happy that this is going to materialise".

Mayweather, who makes it a point to regularly bring up how much money he will make for his fights, did not discuss his pay for the event.

The undefeated boxing legend will be taking on the undefeated kickboxing champion on December 31 at Rizin 14.

Rizin boss Nobuyuki Sakakibara said the bout would be held under "special rules", which could mean a mix of kickboxing and boxing rules apply.

"As far as the weight class, we're not really anxious about that", he said. "I can do anything if I set my mind to it". "I just want to entertain".
