President Jeff Zucker slammed the Donald Trump White House in a statement on Wednesday, saying he and especially Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders should understand the "seriousness of their continued attacks on the media".

President Jeff Zucker issued a statement condemning White House officials after an explosive device was sent to the network's New York City headquarters.

As tensions between the Trump administration and the press continue, members of the media are getting support from an unlikely source - former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci. "Thus far, they have shown no comprehension of that", he said.

Sanders claimed falsely that CNN immediately leaped to blame the president for the bomb threat that forced the evacuation the network's NY offices. In his remarks, he made no menion of CNN, which received one of he pipe bombs, addressed to network contributor John Brennan, the former Central Intelligence Agency director who Trump announced on national TV he was stripping of the customary security clearance afforded former Central Intelligence Agency directors, because of Brennan's remarks about him.

"Yes, the president is speaking mistruths", Scaramucci said.

Host Brian Kilmeade first noted that there were additional targets, including Robert de Niro and Joe Biden, noting both are critics of Trump, and co-host Steve Doocy brought up the President's tweet from this morning in which he placed blame on "fake news". Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) and ex-Attorney General Eric Holder also were mailed suspicious packages.

Trump decries 'worst cover-up' over Saudi killing as U.S. takes first action
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that the Saudi official will meet Turkish prosecutors during his visit. On October 2, the day of the killing, operatives disabled CCTV cameras at the consulate, Mr Erdogan said.

Veteran journalist and Washington Post Associate Editor Bob Woodward in his book "Fear" reported that Kelly often vented to colleagues about Trump, calling the president "unhinged" and "an idiot".

"Nobody should lie. I'm not a big believer in lying". He's "an intentional liar" who uses "a methodology of mistruth" with the aim of unsettling the mainstream media and the political left.

President Donald Trump has always had a very casual relationship with the truth.

Scaramucci said Sunday that Trump "needs a chief of staff, but he needs a chief of staff that really likes him and gets his personality".

Similar packages were intercepted en route to the homes of former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. No, he said, Trump is not "a liar".
