Tropical Storm Florence continues its churn toward US coast

A new tropical storm has formed in the eastern Atlantic off the western coast of Africa.
Still, this storm could take a sharp curve to the north and head out sea, we have to acknowledge that this storm may directly hit the east coast.
Earlier today, Gov. Cooper said state emergency management officials are working with local and federal counterparts to prepare North Carolina for possible impacts from Florence.
The storm is looking more likely to threaten parts of the East Coast.
The location of Florence plays a big role in our weather for this coming Thursday and Friday.
At 8:00 a.m., the center of the system was about 290 miles east southeast of the southernmost Cabo Verde Islands. However, Florence is forecast to begin restrengthening as conditions become more favorable for it to gain the vertical structure that creates powerful hurricanes.
Florence is forecast to track west through the weekend, forecasters said. 4 strength with 130 miles per hour winds by Wednesday.
Forecasters at the Canadian Hurricane Centre are closely monitoring a storm churning out in the Atlantic. But it was expected to move on a mostly westward course during the next 24 hours. The average European model simulation has shifted its track from just off the Mid-Atlantic coast to onshore.
