  • German couple jailed for selling son, 9, to paedophiles on dark web

The 48-year-old was sentenced to twelve and a half years in prison, while her partner, a 39-year-old convicted paedophile was sentenced to 12 years.

The Freiburg state court in southwestern Germany convicted the couple of serious sexual abuse of children, 21 counts in his case and 19 in hers. Her partner, Christian L., was sentenced to 12 years.

They were accused of having sexually assaulted the boy - who was nine when their trial began in June - as well as pimping him on the darknet for more than two years.

Six other people were arrested along with the couple last autumn - with several men already convicted in separate trials.

A German couple was tossed behind bars for 12 years Tuesday for selling custom-made online videos of them sexually abusing their son.

Liverpool v Napoli preview: Alisson to feature for Reds in Dublin

"A Spanish national received a 10-year prison sentence on Monday after admitting that he had raped the boy on at least 15 occasions and had paid the mother and her partner more than 10,000 euros", DPA reported. The court ruled that the man, who had a previous conviction for child sex offenses, must remain in preventive custody after serving his sentence. It said the mother was aware from the start of the man's pedophile tendencies and previous conviction.

The couple were found guilty of rape, aggravated sexual assault of children, forced prostitution and distribution of child pornography between May 2015 and August 2017.

The verdict against the mother and stepfather in the case, which police have called one of the most atrocious they have investigated, is expected on Tuesday.

Local authorities have been accused of failing to protect the boy from his abusive parents, after officials removed him from his home, but returned him back weeks later.

The court also ordered the couple to pay 42,500 euros (about $49,100) to the boy and a young girl who was also a victim, The Associated Press reported.
