He said that a confusion is being spread that the names of Indian citizens have been removed from the list, just to mislead the people.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned briefly on Monday after the opposition created pandemonium over the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam terming it "inhuman".

Addressing the media, the BJP chief said, "It is odd that everyone is talking about human rights of the illegal immigrant but no is talking about the human rights violation of the citizens of Assam". When home minister's attention was drawn to the development, he said that Bangladesh is also prepared along the border to prevent any person illegally crossing the border.

In a statement on the eve of the publication of the draft NRC, Sonowal said the resilience and struggle of the people of Assam are intrinsically involved with the matter of NRC.

The draft list, which was released on Monday, has left out almost 40 lakh people in Assam, incorporating names of 2.89 crore people out of 3.29 crore applicants.

"Nowhere else in India have we carried out such an exercise to have a list of (Indian) nationals", said NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela. "But the fact of the matter is that there is no illegal immigrant from Bangladesh in India". Many, both Hindus and Muslims have apparently established homes and businesses, schools, farms and factories.

Officials said security had been tightened across the state as thousands of Bengali-speaking Muslims worry about being sent to detention centers or deported.

Sharma said the Congress in principle agrees with the idea of the NRC, but has objections to the manner in which it is implemented as many anomalies and flaws have been discovered due to which a large number of people having valid documents are left out.

Tesla also said it's working on a new version of its Autopilot semi-autonomous software that will have greater safety features. Capital expenditure is expected to fall $900m to about $2.5bn this year and Tesla had $2.2bn in cash and equivalents.

Rights groups have criticized the government move, saying deletion from citizenship lists was similar to Myanmar's removal of rights and protections for its Rohingya community in 1982.

"The over 40 lakh people, who have been kept out of the NRC, are infiltrators". They can not be termed as non-citizens.

A bench of Justices Ranjan Gogoi and R F Nariman was told by Attorney General K K Venugopal, appearing for Centre, that some states, including West Bengal, have fears that people whose name has not found mention in the second and final draft NRC, will migrate to other states.

The chief minister of Assam has said that there is no question of anyone being put in detention camp.

Based on the writ petition, the Supreme Court in December 2014 had set a time-frame to update the NRC, the pilot project of which was stalled in 2010. Till August 7, the draft NRC is being made available to the people to see whether their names are there or not, he added.

Meanwhile, the police and security forces have geared up to tackle any possible law and order breakdown in the aftermath of the NRC publication.

Banerjee claimed that names of some people who have passports, Aadhaar and voter cards have been excluded from the complete draft.
