His daughter Maryam Nawaz at a rally in Buner said the "traitor" card was being used to tarnish the image of her father after dislodging him as Prime Minister on false charges of corruption.

Abbasi said he was confident that the parliamentarians making fiery speeches against Nawaz Sharif had not even read the interview and were only making the fuss out of nothing.

Sharif's remarks questioning the policy of using Pakistan-based terrorists for cross-border attacks such as the assault on India's financial hub, made during an interview with Dawn newspaper, stirred a hornet's nest.

The National Assembly's Standing Committee on Law and Justice on Tuesday summoned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Javed Iqbal to appear before it today [Wednesday] in connection with a NAB's press release which said it will investigate Sharif's alleged money laundering.

While the World Bank promptly responded to the NAB move and stated "the report does not include any mention of money laundering nor does it name any individuals", the State Bank of Pakistan said the estimates showed in the WB report were based on "assumptions" which did not reflect the reality.

The Mumbai terror attack is the worst kept secret in Pakistan as everybody knows that it was carried out by terror groups nurtured on their soil and the entire operation was directed by non-state actors. "The national commission should be tasked to find the cause of these issues".

Imran Khan, chairperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf attacked Nawaz Sharif a day after ousted prime minister tacitly admitted to Pakistan "militants" being behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. He further said Nawaz speaking Modi's language against Pakistan state simply to protect his ill-gotten Rs 300 billion stashed in his sons companies abroad.Mir Jafar was the commander in Siraj- ud -Daulah's army and he colluded with the East India Company to defeat the Nawab of Bengal in the Battle of Plassey in 1757.

Nawaz maintained that NSC's declaration was painful and contradictory to facts. He said Pervaiz Musharraf, Rehman Malik and others had also given such statements in the past.

Accountability Court-I Judge Mohammad Bashir observed that the accused will be given a questionnaire today with regards to their recording of statements on Friday.

After Nawaz's counsel Khawaja Haris and Abbasi completed their arguments on the request, the court reserved its verdict on the plea.

India's stand on the Mumbai attacks stands vindicated following Sharif's confession.
