  • Minkah Fitzpatrick selected by Miami Dolphins with No. 11 pick in NFL Draft

Tight end Mike Gesicki #88 of the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Fitzpatrick had 45 receptions for 1,111 yards and 12 touchdowns, and on defense, he recorded 70 tackles and three interceptions, and helped Prep capture its first state championship since 2005. Gesicki crushed the National Football League combine and he adds a long, athletic option at tight end.

"Jimmy Graham was not a good blocker coming out", Dolphins general manager Chris Grier told Miami reporters.

"Does (Gesicki) jump out of the gym or what?" asked Rich Eisen of the NFL Network, noting Gesicki's 41.5-inch vertical jump at the Combine. He gives them a much needed boost as a blocker in double-tight sets in the running game. In four seasons he caught 129 passes for 1,481 yards and 15 touchdowns.

But he had seven sacks and a hand in six takeaways the past two seasons, and led the Buckeyes previous year with 72 tackles. "It's just really cool and it's an honor and a blessing to say that I play this game".

"We had some insider trading with Raekwon", Grier said.

The 6-foot, 204-pound Fitzpatrick is the highest Crimson Tide player taken since receiver Amari Cooper went No. 4 overall in 2015, and is the seventh Alabama defensive back taken in the draft's opening round under Saban.

McMillan suffered a season-ending knee injury in the first exhibition game past year but is expected to start in 2018.
