Battery-centric Moto E5 range announced with stock Android 8.0

Details of Lenovo-owned Motorola's upcoming "Moto G6" series have been leaked online ahead of its launch, the media reported. The company has designed this smartphone with unique set of features, powerful processor and bigger display. It further comes with a single rear camera and a 5,000 mAh battery.

These are the specifications of all the new six devices announced by Motorola. Running on Android 8.0 Oreo, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 427 processor coupled with 2GB/3GB of RAM. The G6, slightly confusingly, comes in three variants. While the Moto G6 Play smartphone has the physical Fingerprint Scanner which is located at the back panel. It has a 2800mAh battery and is powered by Snapdragon 425 chipset with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (expandable). Other specs include the following: 3GB or 4GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB onboard storage, fingerprint reader, microSD card slot, and a 3D glass back. It comes with 32GB of internal storage, and microSD card supports up to 128GB.

In total, the Moto G6 Plus has 3 photo sensors.

The Moto G6 Play has an HD+ resolution, the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus come with full-HD+ screen resolution. Both phones also sport 12MP and 5MP dual rear cameras, but the G6 Plus trumps its little bro in the battery life and processor departments, the G6 Plus getting a Snapdragon 630 as opposed to the regular G6's Snapdragon 450. Note, each of the fresh smartphones operated by Android operating system eighth version, and displays these devices conform to the fashionable aspect ratio of 18:9. Moto E5 packs a massive 4,000mAh battery.

The new Motorola phones have their plus points, including stock Android and useful software features. The Play doesn't have a particularly large battery, at 2,800mAh, but it is removable. On the software side of things, the Moto G6 Play runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and is backed by a 4000mAh battery with 15W turbo charging.

All the devices come with p2i water-repellent coating which keeps your device safe from water splashes.

Out of the three smartphones, the Moto G6 Plus is the costliest of the lot with a price tag of $369 which is approximately Rs 24,350 in India. Starting next week the smartphones will be available in Mexico and various Asia Pacific countries including India. While the devices are already on sale in Brazil, they are likely to be made available on a global scale including India very soon. Moto G6 will have a price of $249, which is around Rs 16,000 plus on conversion.
