He was once described by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) mouthpiece "Organiser" as the "hero of Dangs", the tribal belt of Gujarat where Nabh Kumar Sarkar, better known as Swami Aseemanand, was active as a key coordinator of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, an RSS affiliate. The enhanced security arrangements will be in place for some time, he said.

"NDTV has reported that the judgment has far-reaching effects as the UPA governments plea to blame the blast on "#Hindu terror" groups came a cropper. While the NIA was formed in 2009, it was only in 2011 that the Centre made a decision to shift these cases to the NIA after the arrest of Aseemanand from Haridwar on November 19, 2010, and his purported judicial confession revealing that right-wing terror groups were responsible for Ajmer, Mecca Masjid, Malegaon and Samjhauta Express blasts between 2006 and 2008. Swami Aseemanand, a saffronist monk, has been linked to three terror attacks. He was arrested for Ajmer Dargah blast in 2010 and was convicted along with Bhavesh Patel and Sunil Joshi. The CBI claimed that during the questioning they had admitted their role in the Mecca Masjid blast. The phones even had similar IMEI numbers and SIM card numbers were also in a sequence. NIA's defence is they haven't been able to recover any material evidence related to the case.

Fourth, at Mecca Masjid blast site, it was found that only one of the two bombs had exploded.
