  • Eurostar to launch London- Amsterdam service on April 4

The trains from London to the Netherlands will depart at 8.31am and 5.31pm on weekdays, then 8.31am Saturday and 5.31pm on Sunday. Work is ongoing at stations in Amsterdam and Rotterdam to build passport and security clearance facilities.

Nicolas Petrovic, CEO of Eurostar, commented: "The launch of our service to the Netherlands represents an exciting advance in cross-Channel travel and heralds a new era in global high-speed rail".

Amsterdam will join Paris, Brussels and Lille and Disnelyland Paris as year round Eurostar destinations with seasonal direct services to Lyon, Avignon and Marseille and the French Alps.

Eurostar is opening a direct high-speed train route between London and Amsterdam this spring, the rail company announced Friday.

Eurostar is bringing the city into its network for the first time, taking passengers to the Dutch capital in three hours and 41 minutes.

This is an especially interesting move considering the close personal relationship between Wade and LeBron James . James wished Wade well, both on social media and in person before they went their opposite ways Thursday.

"Over the last twenty-three years, the market for travel between London and Paris has more than doubled as customers increasingly choose high speed rail over plane", the company said in a statement. The extension of services to Amsterdam, another key business and leisure destination, has always been an aim of Eurostar.

"The launch of our service to the Netherlands represents an exciting advance in cross-Channel travel and heralds a new era in global high speed rail". On the return journey passengers will need to alight for passport controls and security screening to be carried out in the Brussels-Midi terminal, adding an estimated 30 minutes or more to travel time.

"With direct services from the United Kingdom to The Netherlands, France and Belgium, we are transforming the links between the United Kingdom and three of Europe's top trading nations".

When Eurostar launched direct service from London to Amsterdam in April, ticket costs will start at €40. Eurostar expects this will be completed by late 2019.
