  • PUBG Update #5 PC Rolling Out Here’s What’s New

Between launch and the end of 2017, 1.5 million players were banned after being caught cheating. The developer also confirmed that this is a permanent block of Reshade, so it's probably best to get rid of it at this point. If the program is detected, the new patch will simply prevent the game from loading. In addition, the devs have come up with their own anti-cheat solution that should be introduced to the game's live servers in the next few days. Its main focus for now is blocking unauthorised programs but it will be further developed to broaden the scope of its abilities.

"The new anti-cheat feature will block different helper programs that alter the graphics or aid in gameplay in some way", reads the PUBG blog.

But the war on PUBG cheating is now in full swing and players understand that the file modification limitations will likely create a fairer in-game environment in the long run.

Natural disaster strikes Taiwan; two dead, hundreds injured
Taiwan lies along the famed "Pacific Rim of Fire" known for seismic activity from Alaska to Southeast Asia. Multiple, strong aftershocks rattled the area, keeping residents and emergency officials on edge.

"ReShade not only behaves like a cheat program but can also be used for cheating, and must therefore be blocked", the new post reads. One popular piece of software that will be blocked with this update is ReShade. We are checking the programs that are being blocked on the test servers and will allow the use of harmless programs as quickly as possible. This is a result of the tool being already banned despite the patch not going out just yet, so you'll have to uninstall the program to keep playing the battle royale game. Do you think China should be region-locked? However, due to an unexplained issue, the patch has been delayed.

The countermeasures will primarily be looking at external software that has "hooked" into the game and transformed or deleted game files. In the post, they mention how they noticed that the family sharing function on Steam has a number of vulnerabilities that hackers were exploiting.
