Nintendo released a revised Switch Sales forecast, saying it now expects to sell 15 million units by March.

After the Switch worldwide release as of previous year, the device has accrued a number of sold units of 14.86 million as of December 31st, 2017.

In terms of Switch software sales, the total overall jumped to 52.57 million across all game titles, with Super Mario Odyssey leading the pack at 9.07 million sales. On the other hand, Nintendo may have a hard time equaling its impressive 2017 game release calendar in 2018.

That overtakes the Wii U's lifetime hardware sales total of 13.56 million between its November 17, 2012 launch and when it was discontinued on January 31, 2017.

Nintendo has raised its operating profit forecast for the year to the end of March by a third, after phenomenal Switch sales fuelled the company's most profitable quarter since 2009.

Specifically, 14.86 million units were sold.

Kantar: Apple's iPhone X dominated sales over the holiday period
Samsung makes the OLED panel for the iPhone X which is said to contribute to the extremely high 999 dollar cost of the iPhone X . Kuo indicates that Apple might not have enough development resources to be in charge of launching another iPhone.

But the astonishing sales figures for its games - nine million for Super Mario Odyssey and seven million for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - prove that consumers will pay for a console which offers games which are fun to play.

The Nintendo Switch is a curious device that many gamers thought would fail.

It's interesting to note that the Nintendo Switch in its short span has already outsold the doomed Wii U and it just goes to show that Nintendo gamble with hybrid couch/portable gaming has worked out. Instead of doubt about its future, the company is going into the year with its strongest product lineup since the Wii was released in 2006.

Nintendo aims to ship 20 million Switch consoles in 2018.

Besides a stable of game franchises to exploit, the company will also be releasing the Nintendo Labo cardboard construction kits for the Switch it announced a few weeks back.
