The as of yet untitled ninth picture by Quentin Tarantino about Charles Manson has picked up a huge actor for its roster. Though DiCaprio infamously cut his hand during filming (and kept going), the role earned him just one of his (many) Oscar nominations. According to Variety, DiCaprio "will play an aging actor". We'll have to wait, mind, as the film's still in production and not due to hit cinemas until 2019 - the studio has apparently set a 9 August release date, to chillingly coincide with the 50th anniversary of the murders of Tate and her friends by the Manson family. The deal is expected to close soon, and this will become DiCaprio's first film since he won the Oscar for The Revenant. However, based on the film's premise and Tarantino's involvement, it sounds like a potential awards season contender.
Deadline confirms the rumors that Tarantino has reached out to Margot Robbie to play Tate. While the role is said to be "meaty", nearly no specific details have been released about the plot or the character.
Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are also said to be in talks for two major roles in the film while a part has also been written for Al Pacino, who is yet to sign on. Cruise, Robbie, and DiCaprio aren't the only big names linked to Tarantino's new film, either.
Cavusoglu names main causes of discord between Turkey and US
Ankara and Moscow have many times not been seeing eye to eye on Syrian conflict since they have different interests in the region. A previous attempt in November to convene talks in Sochi failed due to disagreements between the prospective participants.
It will be interesting to see how fast the rest of the cast now comes together, and to see what role DiCaprio has.
The film will be Tarantino's ninth feature.
Quentin Tarantino is in the news a lot lately. The untitled film already has a date set for August 9th, 2019 and would mark nearly four years since audiences last saw DiCaprio on screen (he does have other projects in the works, but this will likely be the first one to make it to completion).
