A power outage hit Disneyland in California, affecting dozens of attractions.

A transformer issue caused the power outage, the spokesman said, adding that people were being escorted off the affected rides.

A blackout forced evacuations at a number of Disneyland attractions in California on Wednesday, which was crowded on a day many were off for year-end holidays. A park spokesperson issued a statement, saying the outage stems from Disneyland's transformer.

Geoff Fienberg and his family were stuck on It's a Small World when the power went out and were escorted off the ride. You're just sort of sitting in a boat.

Every so often an actual outage at Disney proves my latter fear right, and on Wednesday Disneyland's Toontown and Fantasyland suffered just that.

The amusement park was near capacity, according to ABC7, and a tweet from Disneyland's official Twitter account said the resort was very busy.

"It was interesting to see the bowels of Disneyland", he said on CNN.

Shortly afterward, a park spokeswoman told City News Service that power was mostly restored by noon to the affected rides in Toontown and Fantasyland, and employees were working to reactivate those attractions.
